How Lovina collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use our AI companion service at lovinaai.com and related applications.

Who we are

Lovina AI ("Lovina", "we", "us") operates the AI companion service at https://lovinaai.com.

This Privacy Policy applies to visitors, registered users, and subscribers. It should be read together with our Terms of Service, Cookie Policy, and Safety page.

Scope and age restriction

Lovina is intended for adults aged 18 and over only. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided data to us, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Adult or intimate features require additional age verification on eligible paid plans, as described in our Terms and Safety page.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to operate, secure, and improve Lovina:

  • Account data: email address, display name, authentication identifiers (via Clerk), subscription tier, billing status, referral codes, and age-verification status where required.
  • Conversation data: chat messages, voice inputs and outputs, companion preferences, saved memories, generated images or media you request, and safety-related flags.
  • Usage and device data: browser type, operating system, app version, language, coarse location derived from IP (country/region), pages visited, feature interactions, crash logs, and performance metrics.
  • Payment data: billing name, billing address where provided, transaction history, and subscription metadata. Card and crypto payments are processed by our payment partners; we do not store full payment card details.
  • Communications: support tickets, safety reports, and emails you send us.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: as described in our Cookie Policy.

How we use information

We use personal data to:

  • Provide and personalize your AI companion experience, including memory, voice, and companion selection.
  • Process subscriptions, credits, trials, refunds, and customer support.
  • Verify eligibility for age-restricted features and enforce Community Guidelines.
  • Detect spam, fraud, policy violations, and technical issues; protect users and Lovina.
  • Send service-related notices (billing, security, policy updates). Marketing emails are sent only where permitted and can be opted out.
  • Produce aggregated, de-identified statistics for product improvement. We do not use your private chats to train third-party foundation models.

AI processing

To generate responses, your messages and relevant context (preferences, memories you saved, companion settings) are transmitted to our AI infrastructure and inference providers under strict contractual confidentiality.

Automated systems may classify content for safety. We do not make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects without human review where required by law.

Retention and deletion

You may delete individual memories or your entire account from account settings. Account deletion removes associated profile and conversation data from production systems within 30 days, except where longer retention is required by law (e.g. tax and payment records, typically up to 7 years).

Backup copies may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before automatic purge.

Anonymized or aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely.

Sharing and subprocessors

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only as follows:

  • Subprocessors that help us operate Lovina, under data-processing agreements with confidentiality and security obligations.
  • Professional advisers (lawyers, accountants) under confidentiality.
  • Law enforcement or regulators when required by valid legal process, or when necessary to protect rights, safety, or property.
  • Business transfers: if Lovina is acquired or merges, your data may transfer subject to this Policy or notice to you.

Subprocessor list

Our current subprocessors include:

  • Vercel, Inc. — application hosting, edge delivery, and privacy-oriented web analytics
  • Supabase, Inc. — managed PostgreSQL database and related infrastructure
  • Clerk, Inc. — authentication, account management, and session security
  • Segpay / CCBill — high-risk card billing for adult merchants (when enabled)
  • Dodo Payments — card, UPI, and global checkout (when enabled)
  • NOWPayments — cryptocurrency payment processing (when enabled)
  • OpenRouter / AI inference providers — large-language-model API routing for chat, voice, and image features
  • PostHog, Inc. (EU cloud) — product analytics when you consent to analytics cookies

International transfers

Lovina is operated from the United States. If you access Lovina from the EEA, UK, or other regions, your data may be transferred to the U.S. and other countries that may have different data-protection laws.

Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, and supplementary measures where appropriate.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.

To exercise these rights, email privacy@lovinaai.com. We may need to verify your identity. We respond within the timeframes required by applicable law (typically 30 days under GDPR).

EEA and UK users may lodge a complaint with their local data protection supervisory authority.

California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.

Lovina does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

Submit California requests to privacy@lovinaai.com. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with proof of authorization.

Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, logging, and industry-standard practices to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password and keep credentials confidential.

Changes

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app notice before they take effect where required. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the current version.
